Scholarship Programs

While Big/Little matches are the core of the services that JBBBS offers, we also support our families through our various scholarship programs. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, JBBBS has been providing both camp and academic scholarships for decades. New in 2023, JBBBS is overseeing a third program, the CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies) College Scholarship awards. Please read below for more information on the programs, eligibility requirements and how to apply.

JBBBS Academic Scholarship

For Littles who have been previously matched in JBBBS programs for at least one consecutive year, JBBBS offers scholarships for undergraduate education. Recipients may use these funds for tuition and any other costs associated with school, such as housing, transportation, books/fees and technology expenses. Applications for the 2024-25 academic year will be available online January 11, 2024 and will be accepted through May 9th.

Please note that this is a separate application from that for the CJP Academic Scholarship; you may apply for both if eligible.

CJP Academic Scholarship

The CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston) Academic Scholarship Fund was established in 1973 to provide scholarship support for students who live in the geographic area served by CJP. Undergraduate students attending two-year or four-year USA-based accredited institutions are eligible to apply. There are also very limited funds for graduate and international students,  and vocational certificate programs. The Fund is non-sectarian. Primary consideration is given to Jewish students, however. The volunteer CJP Scholarship Committee makes its decisions on the basis of economic need, followed by merit. Before applying to The Fund, applicants are expected to have exhausted all other available resources including college financial aid awards as well as federal, state, and other private funds.

Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, and other associated costs. Applications for the 2024-25 academic year will be available online January 18 and will be accepted through June 3rd.

Please note that this is a separate application from that for the JBBBS Academic Scholarship; you may apply for both if eligible (please refer to JBBBS eligibility requirements in the description for that program, above).
